Hosting Magento
I know people have their favorite companies to host their websites with and i have only used about 5 different ones in my life so i can’t really say which is the best, they have all worked quite well. That is until i started using Magento. I first installed it on a godaddy server (Economy Hosting, this is the basic hosting plan, they have better ones than this that might work very well with Magento) just to try it out, i nearly gave up on it right there and then, it was so slow. I’m glad i didn’t as after i had done a little research i had a go with simplehelix (they said that their servers are quick and were set up for Hosting Magento). I must admit that they were correct. They also have an auto install that takes about 30 seconds to set up a basic install of the software which is very handy. Now just to let you know i did try Magento on godaddy about a year ago and it might be that Magento has made there software just run faster. Although every thing i read on the subject points me to the conclusion that if you want to use Magento you should install it on a server that is up to the task. I am not affiliated with any of the companies mentioned above and there will surely be other hosts that do just as good a job and maybe even better. Also let me point out that the godaddy account cost $5 per/month and the simplehelix account cost $20 per/month.
