Customizing Products Online
Do you have a product that can be made in an array of different finishes? Instead of getting that product made and photographed in each finish you could drape all your finishes onto all your products digitally. An example of such a process is shown below. We have used an image of a crib that has multiple sections, each section can be created in multiple fabrics. It does not take long to realize the enormous amount of options that become available with this one crib. Creating and photographing all these options would soon become prohibitively expensive.
1. Original Image
The first thing we need are pictures of the product. This can be one picture but in this scenario we received 4 pictures because the crib has options for 3 different cords (small cord, large cord and ruffled cord) and 2 different skirts (tailored and ruffled).
2. Edited Images
We take the 4 images and separate the different options. Using some image editing software we take care in aligning the options so that they fall in the correct position onto the base image. As you can see in the images below all the different options fall in the correct position.

3. Original Image Options
From the work we have done (see above) we can now cut out each separate option. Each option will fall into the correct position to recreate a complete crib. (obviously we would only choose one of the cord options and one skirt option)

4. Fabrics
We now place the range of fabrics that are going to draped over the crib into an endless repeat

5. Draped Options
With the fabrics all in repeat we drape them onto all of the crib options

6. Placing Them All Together
By putting all the options together we now have our fully draped cribs
